Our Winter
Learning Kits
Here's a brief description of each of our kits.
Each kit is designed to be age-appropriate,
and the elements of each kit will vary with the needs of the learner. Many of the activities in the kit are designed to be used many times in many ways. Many of the materials in the kits are sustainable, and are designed to be used with future kits and outside activities as well as with the kit in which it is included.
2- to 3-Year Old Kit
The 2 - 3 year old Winter kit contains a book, Ten Sparkly Snowflakes, with craft materials for several winter crafts, activity cards and materials, manipulatives, and theme-based items. The kit focuses on 2 to 3-year-old milestones including beginning counting to 5, identifying and sorting basic colors and shapes, starter pattern activities, and songs and activities related to the Ten Sparkly Snowflakes book.
3- to 4-Year-Old Kit
The 3 - 4 year old Winter kit contains a book, The Biggest Snowman Ever, with craft materials for several winter crafts, activity cards and materials, manipulatives, and theme-based items. The kit focuses on 3- to 4-year-old milestones including beginning counting to 10, identifying and sorting more colors and shapes, beginning letter recognition, more complicated pattern activities, Wikki Stix cards and activities for counting, making numerals, and making letters, and several activities related to the The Biggest Snowman Ever book.
Pre- K/TK Kit
The Pre-K to TK Winter kit contains a book, How to Catch a Snowman, with craft materials for several winter crafts, activity cards and materials, manipulatives, and theme-based items. The kit focuses on Pre-K and Transitional Kindergarten milestones including Counting to 10, with a focus on one-to-one correspondence; recognizing numerals to 10, attributes of shapes, identifying and creating patterns, understanding and using vocabulary for position, size, and categories, beginning language skills such as initial letter sounds and rhyming, and several activities related to the How to Catch a Snowman Ever book.
